What payment methods are supported?
Cards and bank transfers are the major payment methods accepted. This is dependent on the geographical location. Bank transfers can only be used in most of the United States, Brazil, SEPA, and the UK. For further details about accepted payment methods and fiat currencies, consult MoonPay’s Help Center.
What tokens are supported?
At launch, we will support DAI, ETH, MATIC, USDC, USDT, WBTC, and WETH. However, this does depend on the region. For example, US users cannot purchase WETH or WBTC.
What chains are supported?
You are able to buy cryptocurrency and transfer it to any wallet available on Ethereum, Polygon, Optimism, or Arbitrum networks.
Do I need to verify my identity with MoonPay?
If you wish to buy cryptocurrency with a credit or debit card or bank account, you must comply with MoonPay’s KYC/AML regulations. Verifying your identity is only required when buying crypto through MoonPay; it is not necessary for utilizing the Uniswap Protocol. Moreover, MoonPay does not provide Uniswap Labs with customer data and Uniswap Labs does not save financial data like credit/debit cards, bank details, nor personal info such as name, address, date of birth, email or IP address.
What are the fees?
We have some of the lowest in the entire market:
- No Minimum Fee – Payment processors often charge a minimum fee regardless of purchase size. Our minimum fees are zero!
- No Spread on USDC – Payment processors quote a slightly higher token price than the market rate. This fee is called a “spread” and contributes to their margins. We have zero spread for USDC purchases!
- Low spread and processing fees – We’ve also negotiated low spread and processing fees on all supported currencies.
How much crypto can I buy?
Minimum – For most cryptocurrencies, the minimum amount required to make a purchase is 15 USD or equivalent in the local currency. However, for ETH, USDC, USDT and DAI, the minimum purchase size fluctuates depending on market conditions.
Maximum – The maximum amount of cryptocurrency that can be purchased varies depending on which digital currency is chosen and the type of fiat money used. For instance, USDC has a ceiling of 10,000 when bought through Arbitrum or Optimism. Meanwhile, the upper limits for popular fiat currencies are USD 12,000, GBP 9,000, EUR 10,000 and CAD 16,000.
Your payment provider could have constraints on the amount of your purchase. We suggest bank transfer or debit cards. It’s important to keep in mind that the minimum and maximum purchase sizes may be adjusted according to MoonPay’s regulations.
When will the purchased crypto arrive in my wallet?
The amount of time it takes for your purchases to show up in your wallet will depend on the payment method you use, but they should appear within a few minutes.
Can I send crypto back into my bank account?
Not yet. We’re working to integrate an off-ramp. Today, you can sell using MoonPay’s website or any other off-ramp platform.
Can I buy NFTs with fiat?
Not directly. You can buy ETH through MoonPay from the Uniswap Web App. You can use this ETH to purchase NFTs on the Uniswap Web App.
