Trove has gone live with its alpha version, aiming to enhance the NFT collecting journey and become the go-to marketplace for Arbitrum. Developed by TreasureDAO and denominated in MAGIC and ETH, Trove intends to bring a different twist to NFT marketplaces: gamification. This is the first time a marketplace has ever tried something like this, offering an exciting, game-like experience that will appeal to both collections and collectors alike.
Starting with success
Trove has been rebranded from its original name, Treasure Marketplace, and it has a long history. Prior to Treasure, Arbitrum’s daily NFT volume was only 1 ETH per day. However, since the launch of our NFT marketplace on November 13th 2021, we have seen an impressive $285M (101M MAGIC) in trading volume in just seven months [1]. By early 2022, the Treasure platform became the second highest grossing marketplace globally with two collections (Bridgeworld and Smol Brains), accounting for 10% of OpenSea’s total volume.
Your window into new worlds
Trove offers two kinds of collections: MAGIC (from virtual worlds and games that are closely related to Treasure’s virtual economy); and general collections denominated in ETH.
Trove builds on Treasure’s gaming background to offer a much larger array of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), including art, photography, profile images, music and other items. Initially presented as a curated market, we have plans to introduce an open and unrestricted listing system in the future.
A new home for collectors and builders
Collectors are drawn to NFTs for their ability to create identity, passion, and tribalism. Traditional marketplaces have been limited in providing an enjoyable experience when it comes to trading NFTs, only allowing users and collectors to amass their collections. We believe that the trading process should be fun and magical, linking us together within our communities and beyond.
Builders should benefit from the marketplace, and be able to promote their brands through their storefront. As an integral part of the Treasure technology platform, those using Trove will have access to an enthusiastic and committed audience right away.
Trove provides a platform for collectors and builders to interact, allowing them to showcase their NFT collections and achievements, while bringing together the community in one place. It creates a virtual game world for people to explore and build their reputation.
A cornerstone of Arbitrum
We anticipate that the migration of NFT capital from Layer 1 to Layer 2 is only just beginning, and we are delighted to be amongst the first to establish a presence on Arbitrum. We witness other developers joining Arbitrum, partially because of the flourishing environment we have established at Treasure, but also due to Arbitrum’s progressive technology, swiftness of transactions and robustness. The benefits of using Arbitrum for NFT trading will become even more evident when Arbitrum Nitro and AnyTrust chains are made available.

The future is bright
At the end of its initial launch period, Trove will boast more than forty collections. These collections encompass both the new partners that have joined us for our launch as well as existing Treasure game cartridges that were part of the original Treasure Marketplace. We are also in the process of adding further collections to meet the requests from over 250 projects wishing to be listed. Additionally, we are developing key features to shape our ambitious goal of making NFT marketplaces a fun experience. As time goes on, we look forward to revealing what we have planned.
