Flipkart, one of India’s major digital commerce organisations, is affirming its dedication to blockchain technology by revealing a strategic alliance with Polygon which will result in the formation of the Blockchain-eCommerce Centre of Excellence.
The Centre will focus on investigating and creating Web3 and metaverse e-commerce, researching the subsequent stage of shopping and being online. Through this partnership with Polygon and their new Blockchain-Commerce Centre, Flipkart is researching how Web3 will redefine the future of commerce, consumption, and value creation; reshaping shopping experiences for millions.
“Innovation is a fundamental tenet for Flipkart and we have constantly worked towards technological solutions to escalate new boundaries as well as introduce novel products and services,” stated Jeyandran Venugopal from Flipkart’s Chief Product & Technology Office. “We are delighted to partner up with Polygon who are at the cutting edge of blockchain innovation both nationally & internationally.”
The launch follows Flipkart’s October entrance into the metaverse with eDAO, an initiative from Polygon. The “Flipverse” changed the traditional consumer-brand relationship by allowing novel approaches and applications of NFTs that encouraged communal exploration. It was only the latest in Flipkart’s Web3 plans: FireDrops is a user-friendly NFT platform that links creators, companies and customers to discover new ways of constructing, sustaining and appreciating a community through multi-faceted advantages of NFTs. Several large businesses including Adidas, Adobe, Robinhood and Stripe have already chosen Polygon as their entryway to Web3.
By taking part in this dynamic ecosystem, Flipkart is securing its commitment to blockchain for the long-term. Recent advances, such as Polygon’s zkEVM scaling technology, guarantee that the upcoming version of the Web can satisfy global needs.
Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon, declared, “Polygon is the blockchain of choice for the world’s top businesses venturing into Web3.
Our ambition is to bring a billion more users to Web3. That is why we are delighted to collaborate with Flipkart in forming the Blockchain-eCommerce Centre of Excellence. We appreciate India’s abundant talent pool and this partnership will create fresh prospects, stimulate research and development and further boost India’s standing as a leader in Web3. We regard the Centre of Excellence as an essential step forward in the worldwide advancement of eCommerce.”
