The Terra Classic community is divided on whether to accept or reject the funding proposal created by the newly-formed Layer 1 development team. Their request for more than $141K for Q1 2023 has caused debate among members of the community, as some are concerned it could lead to a similar situation as with the Terra Rebels.
LUNCDAOβs Concerns
LUNCDAO, an independent validator, championed the discussion and expressed worries concerning the recent proposition due to the involvement of some Terra Rebels members, such as Tobias “Zaradar” Andersen.
LUNCDAO asked Zarader and ex-Terra Rebels Venus and PSX_TX to record the Terra Rebels’ gatherings following their recent $150K allotment, in order to maintain transparency and help the public decide how to vote on the latest L1 proposal.
LUNCDAO raised worries about the inclusion of DJ Trev in the community oversight panel. The panel consists of DJ Trev, StrathCole, and PFC.
DJ Trev had previously advertised a BSC token known as Lunatics (LUNAT). Allegedly, the group responsible for the project benefited financially from the LUNC burn campaign while causing losses to unsuspecting supporters of LUNC, according to LUNCDAO. This is one possible explanation for people’s worries.
LUNCDAO expressed confidence in Edward Kim, but the independent validator cautioned against automatically voting “Yes” to the proposal simply due to his presence. They pointed out that speedy decisions in the past had resulted in $150K being granted to Terra Rebels. As of yet, LUNCDAO has not voted on the proposal.
PSX_TX, a former member of the Terra Rebels organization, revealed that they are in danger of being taken to court due to suspicions of misusing the $150K in donations given by the public.
TerraCVita Raises Concerns
Additionally, TerraCVita, another independent validator, voted against the proposal for a variety of explanations, such as the private nature of the group. They think that it should be an open partnership. Furthermore, TerraCVita was also against the selection of a governing body for the collective.
Classy, a notable LUNC influencer, inquired about the process of selecting the oversight committee. Zarader recently responded to worries regarding the oversight committee by emphasizing the standards for choosing its members–namely, their capacity to question the team in public and their logical reasoning skills.
TerraCVita expressed worries about the involvement of Terra Rebels members in the new team, citing their recent misuse of the $150K and potential litigation as reasons why it would be inappropriate to have those individuals included.
Despite the worries, the proposal has been approved, with only TerraCVita voting against it. Allnodes and HappyCattyCrypto had not voted when this report was published.
