People who possess bitcoin and Shiba Inu can now utilize them for transactions in Argentina.
Argentina-based possessors of Shiba Inu (cryptocurrency) can now use it for transactions in the country, following an announcement from MasterCard CEO Michael Miebach who declared on Tuesday that the company has partnered with Binance to introduce a Binance prepaid card in Argentina.
Argentina is the first nation in Latin America and one of only a small number of non-European countries that offer the card.
“Payments is one of the first and most obvious use cases for crypto, yet adoption has a lot of room to grow. By using the Binance Card, merchants continue to receive fiat and the users pay in the cryptocurrency they choose. We believe the Binance Card is a significant step in encouraging wider crypto use and global adoption and now it is available for users from Argentina.”
– Maximiliano Hinz, general director of Binance in Latin America
As informed on August 5 that Binance Card had extended its service to include Shiba Inu, allowing holders of the cryptocurrency in some European countries access to making payments with over 60 million retailers worldwide.
In order to get the Binance Card in Argentina, users must be living in the country and verify their Binance account with a Documento Nacional de Identidad. After this is done, they can either request the card directly from the website or through a link at the bottom of Binance.com.
It is noteworthy to point out that payments are a necessary component for the crypto industry to become more widely used, which many people think will lead to a greater acceptance of crypto and Shiba Inu. Therefore, it is not surprising that there will be an increase in the use of both digital currencies in Argentina with the introduction of Binance Card. Notably, compared to the Binance Card available in some parts of Europe which is supported by Visa, this one can be used by over 90 million merchants worldwide. Furthermore, customers can employ either card for offline and online payments.
On September 16th, the official Shiba Inu account verified that the Binance card in Argentina is compatible with Shiba Inu.
The Shiba Inu community is thrilled with the progress they’re making, especially since the team is set to launch their first game. William Volk, the team’s game lead, announced he would be displaying a card-collecting game at Gamescom on Tuesday.
