Ava Labs, the creators of Avalanche, have become a part of the LACChain Alliance from IDB Lab, a global organization headed by the Innovation Laboratory from InterAmerican Development Bank Group. Their purpose is to promote and hasten the growth of blockchain systems in Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) area. Avalanche is Ava Labs’ main product and it’s an open-source platform which allows for the formation of decentralized applications that can be scaled up easily.
The Alliance works to encourage creativity, diminish disparities, trigger the production and assurance of good jobs, support financial access, consumer safety, and market dependability. It presently has 25 members that include ConsenSys, MIT Media Lab, Enterprise Ethereum Alliance, and the Blockchain Research Institute.
Ava Labs provides an easy way to deploy financial applications based on blockchain technology. By becoming a member of the LACChain Alliance, Ava Labs will examine the potential for blockchain in the area together with other members of the ecosystem, and thus speed up the utilization of that technology within LAC.

The LACChain Alliance focuses on two main lines of action:
- The promotion of communities and ecosystems that support local, national, and regional organizations and individuals who wish to explore the benefits of blockchain technology.
- The development of infrastructures that enable a wide range of participants to use blockchain technology for use cases like tokens representing fiat money and digital identity.
